Ask your optician about special extended wear lenses, colored lenses (with or without prescription), multifocal lenses (for presbyopia), toric lenses (for astigmatism), daily disposables, etc.

The first and one of the most important steps for safe application is hygiene. You must always wash your hands before inserting and removing your lenses.

Each lens is in its own sterile packaging. Do not use the lens if the sterile packaging is open or damaged. To open the packaging, pull the foil back. Handle your lenses carefully, with your fingertips, and be careful not to damage them with your fingernails. It helps if your nails are smooth and short.

Before inserting the lens, examine it to ensure there are no tears or attached foreign bodies.
